All of these pictures were taken in Vermont looking at mountains that are in New Hampshire. This first picture is one of my favorites I really like the blue in the sky and how the clouds pop. The mountains are not centered and the trees in the foreground give perspective in how far away the mountains really are. I dislike the two trees right in the center of the photo I feel like if those two trees were not there the photo would really open up with a snow covered path that leads the eye back to the mountains.

The second picture is of the mountains again and part of the Connecticut River. In this picture I like how the river leads the eye off to the distance, and I also like the trees and branches on each side of the picture they frame the river and part of the mountains.

The third picture shows the same mountains as the first just a different angle. I love how the snow on the mountains stand out with this angle. I also really like the line of trees on the bottom of the photo because they stop the eyes from leaving the bottom of the photo. The branches from the left stop the eyes as they follow the mountain line.

The fourth picture is a close up of the snow covered mountains not a great picture, but I really like how the tops of the mountains look. The picture does not really have much to lead the eyes around.

I really like the composition of the third photo. The mountains cut across the sky at just the right spot, and the tree line in the foreground provides some nice contrast.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy and understand how hard it is to capture enough contrast in our photos right now, the landscape can be washed out by the snow, or browned out by the dead underneath. The top photo and the third photo do have some different elements to play off of though (thank you bright green trees huh?). Keep up the nice work!
ReplyDeleteMurph =)
Love the third photo.
ReplyDeleteI like how you got the line of tree's at the bottom of picture. Good job
Great work! I really like the first two photos! I like how the sky in the first one has a 3-D effect with the clouds. It gives the photo some added dimension. I also like how your eyes are drawn to the water in the second picture. There is something to be seen in the entire photo! Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first two work better for the reason that there are foreground objects to help the viewer understand the relationship of space or depth. The top photo is good and could have been better if those trees in the foreground were off-center. The second one is better because you have the small tree on the left helping to frame the shot. Then you have the different textures creating visual interest along with the river that leads your eye into the work. Keeping the sky small helps so the photo doesn't seem so expansive.
ReplyDeleteThe third and fourth photos look rather flat because of the lack of contrast or texture. You may be able to save these with Photoshop by stepping up the contrast. Good work.
